Burger King Celebrates Gay Pride With a Very Important Message
If you missed the latest Burger King promotion, stop what you’re doing right now and check it out. I promise you it’s worth it. During the first week in July, San Francisco celebrated the 44th annual Pride Celebration & Parade. Wanting to send a very large message within a very small package, a downtown Burger King sold the newly branded “Proud Whopper”, a burger sold in rainbow colorful paper and a very important message written within. Customers were intrigued, wondering what the difference was between The Proud Whopper and the traditional one. People with anti-gay views refused to buy The Proud Whopper and those who did were brought to tears with the message written on the inside. Take a look at this video to see for yourself why this fast food restaurant had the power to evoke such extreme emotions.
All of the sales from The Proud Whopper are being donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation for scholarships benefiting LGBT high school seniors graduating in Spring 2015.
